Iran-Israel Conflict Impact: CBSE Class 10 & 12 Exams Postponed in Middle East, Kerala SSLC Likely Next – Revised Dates Soon: Amid the ongoing tension between Iran and Israel, major changes have been announced for Indian board exams in the Middle East. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has postponed the Class 10 and Class 12 exams scheduled for March 2, 2026, across centres in the region.
The decision was taken considering the safety of students after assessing the situation in affected areas.
CBSE Class 10, 12 Exams Postponed in Middle East
CBSE confirmed that the exams scheduled for Monday, March 2, 2026, will not be conducted in Middle Eastern centres, including:
- Bahrain
- Iran
- Kuwait
- Oman
- Qatar
- Saudi Arabia
- UAE
However, exams in India are continuing as per schedule.
The board has clarified that the revised dates for the postponed exams will be announced soon. A decision regarding exams scheduled for March 3, 2026, will be taken after reviewing the situation.
CBSE officials will reassess the conditions on March 3 and decide on examinations scheduled from March 5 onwards.
When Did CBSE Board Exams Begin?
The CBSE Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations 2026 started on February 17, 2026, across designated centres, including those in the Middle East. Due to the current conflict situation, only the Middle East centres are affected.
What About Kerala SSLC Exams?
The Kerala Board of Public Examinations also conducts Class 10 (SSLC) and Class 12 exams in the Middle East, particularly in the UAE.
Kerala SSLC exam centres are located in recognised Indian schools in cities such as:
- Dubai
- Abu Dhabi
- Al Ain
- Ras Al-Khaimah
Around nine schools function as Kerala Board exam centres in the UAE.
As of now, the Kerala Board has not officially confirmed postponement. However, local media reports suggest that a decision is likely soon following CBSE’s announcement.
Other Boards in the Region
The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) also conducts Class 10 and Class 12 exams in the UAE, mainly in Dubai and Sharjah. So far, no official postponement announcement has been made by CISCE.
Revised Schedule – When Will It Be Announced?
CBSE has clearly stated that:
- The revised dates for March 2 postponed exams will be released later.
- A review meeting will be held on March 3, 2026.
- A decision on exams scheduled from March 5 onward will be taken after reviewing the situation.
