Delhi Sarvodaya Vidyalaya Admission 2026: Admissions for entry-level classes in Delhi’s government schools have officially started. The admission process for 2026–27 session in all Government Sarvodaya Vidyalayas under the Directorate of Education (DoE) begins today, March 2, 2026.
Parents and guardians can collect application forms directly from their respective Delhi Sarvodaya Vidyalaya schools. Details about the number of available seats and admission information will be displayed outside the school gates.
Who Can Apply?
Only children residing in Delhi are eligible to apply for admission.
Priority Criteria for Admission
Admissions will be given based on the following order of priority:
- Children living within 1 km of the Sarvodaya Vidyalaya.
- Also included are children living within 3 km, provided there is no Sarvodaya Vidyalaya within 1 km of their residence.
- Children living within 3 km (other than the above category).
- Children living beyond 3 km. In such cases, the Head of School (HoS) will take an undertaking from parents regarding safe transportation.
If there is no Sarvodaya Vidyalaya within 3 km of a child’s residence, parents can apply to the nearest Sarvodaya Vidyalaya.
Age Limit for Entry-Level Classes
Here are the age criteria as on March 31, 2026:

Nursery (Balvatika-1): 3+ to 4 years
(Born between April 1, 2022 and March 31, 2023) -
KG: 4+ to 5 years
(Born between April 1, 2021 and March 31, 2022) -
Class I: 5+ to 6 years
(Born between April 1, 2020 and March 31, 2021)
An age relaxation of up to 30 days may be granted by the Head of School in both minimum and maximum age limits. Additional age relaxation will also be provided to specially-abled children.

- 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM – Evening Shift
Parents must submit the filled application form along with required documents in the drop boxes available at the schools within the given schedule.

The selection will be done through a draw of lots. The lottery will take place in the presence of School Management Committee (SMC) members and parents.

If seats remain vacant, students from the waiting list will be admitted between:
